About Me
Hi. My name is Simone and I am currently a student at New York University. I live off-campus in an apartment on the Lower East Side and therefore have no meal plan (thank god). Not only does this mean I get to have a complete kitchen rather than just the typical mini fridge and microwave, but it also allows me to choose WHAT I put into my body rather than have the NYU cafeterias decide for me. As a Food Studies minor (I started out as a Food Studies major but decided Media Studies was more my thing), I learn about the importance of balanced eating, what constitutes food innovation, and the many ways in which people from different cultures relate to and identify with different foods. Through this blog I hope to not only share how to eat healthfully while on a budget (college kid: trust me, the funds are LOW), even when having to accommodate multiple food allergies (dairy, wheat, and grapes- and vinegar is in EVERYTHING), but also share my ever-growing food knowledge. Bon Apetit!
